On January 1, 2011 Metropolitan Urology & Allied Urology merged to become First Urology, PSC.

We came together as equal partners with a continued goal of providing excellent patient care. When organizing this merger we planned for a slow transition because we understood how this may be confusing for established and new patients alike. Although, this is an exciting time for us, our focus is on taking care of people and putting their health care needs first. With the expertise of 34 physicians, 6 nurse practitioners, and over 25 locations we are able to provide our community with quality and convenient health care.

An important focus of the practice is the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, including the use of robotic surgery and radiation therapy. We were the first practice in the Kentuckiana region to perform robotic prostatectomy using the nerve-sparing, less invasive da Vinci Surgical System^®. In fact, our physicians have extensive experience with the da Vinci Surgical System, having performed over 900 procedures.

Our physicians also treat renal cancer with the less invasive Robotic Partial Nephrectomy. This procedure saves most of the kidney through the removal of the cancer through small, laparoscopic incisions.

We also treat many patients for bladder, kidney and testicular cancer, as well as the entire range of urologic conditions including: erectile dysfunction (ED), enlarged prostate (BPH), incontinence, kidney stones, bladder problems, urinary tract infections, vasectomies and vasectomy reversal.
