James L. Bailen, M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Bailen is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. He received his undergraduate degree from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, and attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He received his degree in medicine in 1972 and received post graduate training in internal medicine at the University of Miami, and in general surgery at the University of Louisville. He received his specialty training in urology at the University of Louisville, and founded what was to become Metropolitan Urology in 1979. Prior to this, Dr. Bailen served as a physician in the United States Navy at the Regional Medical Center at Great Lakes, Illinois.Dr. Bailen has served as both president of the medical staff at Clark Memorial Hospital and Chief of Surgery. He holds a faculty position as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Louisville, is a Director of the Continence Center and Stone Center at Clark Memorial Hospital, and a co-director of the urologic cancer program at the Alliant Hospitals in Louisville, Kentucky.Dr Bailen is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. William K. Schmied, M.D.. F.A.C.S. Dr. Schmied is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and received his undergraduate degree from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Schmied graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and received his urology training at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. In 1981 Dr. Schmied joined private practice with Dr. James Bailen. He has served as president of the Clark County Medical Society as well as chief of staff at Clark Memorial Hospital.Dr. Schmied is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Greg S. Steinbock, M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Steinbock is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. Dr. Steinbock graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and received training in general surgery from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. He then received his urology training at the University of Vermont and fellowship in urinary stones at the University of Florida. Dr. Steinbock was a full-time faculty urologist at the University of Louisville for four years before joining the practice of Drs. Richard N. Medley, M.D, F.A.C.S. Dr. Medley is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky. He received his undergraduate degree from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Barry R. Pecha, M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Pecha was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco. Dr. Pecha graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine and received his urology training at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Bradley B. Bell, M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Bell is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Wabash College, graduating in the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society. His medical school education was completed at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his urology specialty training at the Indiana University Medical Center.Dr. Bell serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Louisville and is past president of the Kentucky Urological Association. He is also a clinical instructor teaching other urologists robotic and laparoscopic surgery in the management of kidney and prostate cancer, thereby earning recognition as an expert in the use of the da Vinci Robotic Laparoscopic Surgical System. Ganesh S. Rao, M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Rao received his bachelor of medicine and surgery at Mysore Medical College, University of Mysore, India. He was a research associate in the Division of Urologic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, from 1996 to 2001. Between 1997 and 2000, he completed his internship in surgery and his residency in urologic surgery.Dr. Rao is certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and he is a member of the Indian Physicians Association of Kentucky.Dr. Rao ranked in the 97th percentile of his graduating class and is the recipient of several honors and awards. He is a member of the American Urological Association and has co-authored several publications and presented several abstracts at American Urological Association meetings. Trevor M. Soergel, M.D. Dr. Soergel is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and received his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Dr. Soergel graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his general surgery and urologic surgical training at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. His special interests include urologic oncology (including robotic surgery), stone disease, and BPH. Matthew Peterson, M.D. Dr. Peterson was born in Michigan and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Virginia. Dr. Peterson graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and received his urology training from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Peterson practices all aspects of general urology, with a special interest in oncology and stone disease. He is a urologic surgeon practicing all techniques including minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic. C. Jeffery Goodwin, M.D. Dr. Goodwin was born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He received his undergraduate degree from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana and his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Goodwin did his general surgical and urologic surgical training at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Robert H. Lewe, M.D. Dr. Lewe received his undergraduate degree from Sam Houston Sate University in Huntsville, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Lewe graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He then completed his general surgery and urologic surgical training at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Hal Rosenbaum, M.D. Dr. Rosenbaum was raised in Frankfort, Kentucky where he attended Western Hills High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. His urology training was completed at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, and he joined Metropolitan Urology in 2009.Dr. Rosenbaum is trained in every aspect of urology including minimally invasive surgery. | David Aronoff, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.A.P. Dr. Aronoff is a native of Clearwater Florida. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, and attended the University of South Florida School of Medicine. His internship was at the Naval Hospital San Diego, California and in General Surgery at the University of South Florida. He completed specialty training in urology at the University of Cincinnati and performed his fellowship in pediatric urology at Long Island Jewish/ Schneider’s Children’s Hospital, Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York. He has served as a general medical officer in the US Navy, and was an Associate Professor at Texas Tech University and has been in both academic and private practice. His practice is concentrated in pediatric and reconstructive urology. He enjoys spending time with his four children, tennis and SEC football. Kelly Gollar, M.S.N., A.R.N.P. Kelly Gollar is a native of Southern Indiana and graduated from Indiana University Southeast School of Nursing in 1986, receiving a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She later attended the University of Louisville where she received a master’s degree in nursing in 1994 and a post-masters certificate as an adult nurse practitioner in 2000. She is also certified as a urological nurse by the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates, and as an operating room nurse by the Association of Operating Room Nurses. She has worked in the area of perioperative nursing as both a staff nurse and Perioperative Educator. She has worked in all specialty areas with extensive experience in urology. She has served as a nurse clinician for Metropolitan Urology, specializing in urodynamics for the past 5 years. She is married and resides in Louisville. She joined Metropolitan Urology in 1996. |

Stephanie Flaspoehler, M.S.N., A.R.N.P. Stephanie Flaspoehler is a native of Southern Indiana and graduated from Spalding University School of Nursing in 1995, receiving a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She later attended the University of Louisville where she received a master’s degree in nursing in 2004. She is board certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has worked in all specialty areas with extensive experience in urology. She has served as Research Manager for Metropolitan Urology, coordinating urological studies. Ann Muth, M.S.N., A.R.N.P. Ann Muth is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Bellarmine University with degrees in biology and nursing, and holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Spalding University. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center ANCC. She has been working in pediatric urology for a decade in both academic and private practice settings. She has a special interest in voiding dysfunction and is passionate about providing the highest quality care to her pediatric patients. In her spare time she gardens and is a ceramic potter. She is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives, Society of Urologic Nurses, National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and American Association of Nurse Practitioners. |
