Cystoscopy – a test that involves looking into the urinary tract through the natural channel with a lighted tube.
Urinalysis – a microscopic and chemical analysis of the urine; useful in determining the presence of blood, pus, protein, and other abnormalities.
Urine culture – a test that determines if bacteria are growing in the urine and which antibiotics are most effective against them.
Vasectomy – a safe and effective method of male sterilization.
Urodynamics – a group of tests which determine the bladder’s filling, storing, and emptying capabilities.
IVP – an x-ray where a liquid is injected into a vein of the arm and eventually collects in the urinary tract. Its function is to produce a white contrast on film that helps highlight the bladder and other organs of the system.
KUB – a flat plate x-ray of kidneys, ureters, and bladder.
Ultrasound – use of painless soundwaves to visualize the kidneys, bladder, pelvic organs and testicles.
Prostate biopsy – the use of a small needle to take a tissue sample of the prostate gland under ultrasound guidance.
Specialized Procedures
Robotic Surgery – advanced surgical procedure, performed by physician from remote control monitor, allowing for minimum damage to surrounding nerves, muscles, structures and organs.
Transperineal seed implantation – Radiation seed implants are a significant treatment advance that offers an effective option to surgery, with less impact on patient lifestyle.
Thermotherapy – Thermotherapy or TUMT© uses controlled heat in the form of microwave energy to safely treat the symptoms of BPH.
Vasectomy reversal – A vasectomy reversal is a surgical procedure that restores the flow of sperm through the vas deferens.
